About Me

My name is Guangchi (Luke) Liu and I am currently a professor of computer science at Southeast University, Nanjing, China. I received my Ph.D. in 2017 from the Gianforte School of Computing at Montana State University. My research interests lie in the areas of Social Computing and Security, Trust Network, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing, etc. I have research experience from both industry and academia.

I used to be a industrial research lead at Stratifyd, Inc. for 5 years. Under my supervision, my team prototyped and productionized numerious social media and opinion analysis systems, such as Emerging Themes and Trends Detection, Semi-Auto Taxonomy, Auto Speech Recognition, and Tunable Neural Sentiment Analysis, etc. These systems are being used by more than 100 enterprises around the world. All of the team members I have mentored are currently working at well-known tech/financial companies including Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Deloitte, etc. and instituions e.g., NCSU.

As an academic researcher, I used to be an assisstant professor of computer science at Kennesaw state university, Marrieta, GA, USA. I have published more than 20 research papers on top tier conferences and journals including INFOCOM, TDSC, CNS, TMM, TECS, Communication Magzine, etc. I also serve as an editor for several top tier journals including IEEE Internet of Things Journal, etc. My past and on-going projects include Trust Modeling in Online Social Networks, Information Dissemination in Online Social Networks and Trust Computing Framework toward Online Disinforamtion, etc.
